  1. yeah, the old trilogy ones have a much more charged atmosphere. Much more tension and suspense.

  2. @drno87 I’m sure thats just because lucas took too much control over the main character and seriously hamppered what might have been a decent act.

  3. This comment is the truth all the way brother. The passion shown in the battles of episodes 5 – 6 between darth vader and luke in my point of veiw are better than in 1 – 3. Especially the final duel between Luke and darth Vader in Ep 6. Epic!

  5. @62SG Your sir an hero. But still the cheap fighting technique made me died a little, so i’m glad they made 1,2,3.

  6. If Luke finished him off in Empire SB Lando wouldn’t have pooped his pants while flying in Return of the Jedi.

  7. When I was young watching this I didn’t know Luke jumped in order to kill himself. I thought he was just escaping down some awesome looking slippery dips because they looked like lots of fun. True story.

  8. @62SG I totally agree, most films were better without all the effects, films get ruined these days.

  16. Why Does Luke’s Lightsaber Always Make A Different Ignition Noise? The Coolest Sounding One Is When He Ignites It the First Time. I Hope It Makes That Same Noise In The Force Unleashed II!

  18. @62SG And who could argue that of all the Star Wars movies, Empire Strikes Back was without a doubt the best of the franchise it really epitomized everything there is about the Empire, Dark and Dreadful.

  19. I’m amazed that this is 1980. The effects, camera angles and everything are very impressive for its time.

  20. I love this battle!! :D
And I love Empire Strikes Back!

I wish I could’ve seen this movie when it was new, in 1980 – unfortunately I was born first 13 years after.
But I think it’s the best movie in the Star Wars saga!

My review of this movie: “Impressive. Most impressive.”

  21. I’ve seen Empire more than any other Star Wars movie combined, and I’m not kidding about that either…

  22. as a person who saw it when it came out in 1980, it was very impressive…the effects the story, the suprises…when Darth revealed that he was Luke’s father, the whole theatre was in awe…all of them were suprised and stunned….me, i read the comic before the movie lol

  23. I met David Prowse (the man who played Darth Vader in the suit) when he came here a couple of years ago.

I asked him if it was as hot as I thought it was inside that thing.

    He said probably more. (hotter)
    :)

  24. the best thing that came out of the prequels is that you can see Darth Vader from another angle in these movies. Before the prequels, i never heard the term Sith and Vader was just some mysterious bad guy and not the “One“ or anything.

Star Wars are the best sci-fi movies ever… except for Attack of the clones (yuck) Dooku vs Yoda was the only great thing in that movie

  25. I love how Vader pushes Luke to the floor with one hand…this fight had so much emotion and power…pity the prequels focused more on choreography rather than power and emotion.
