Star Wars Episode VI – Return Of The Jedi ENDING

This is an alternative version of the original ending of Star Wars Episode VI(1983).This is taken from the 2004 DVD release of Return of the Jedi, where the ghostly image of Sebastian Shaw as Anakin Skywalker is replaced with Hayden Christensen. Also in the 2004 DVD release, added to the Special Addition shot of Courascant are the Jedi Temple and Senate building. [For those interensted in the name of the song,it is called "Victory Celebration/End Title" by John Williams]

  1. Old Anakint it was replaced because he is stood on the dark side. Young Anakin it was good yet. Obivan stood on the good side always.
    Sorry for my english :P

  2. much better ending, and for all those idiots saying that they should let that sebastian shaw stay in the movie should grow a brain. sebastian shaw was in the movie for approximately 1 minute. id much rather have a young annikan that audiences would relate too rather than some dude who made a cameo.

  3. I like this version best. I liked the whole entire story. Lucas is a genius.I am glad he done the ending a new way. The ewoks are cool but their musical skills need work.

  4. See adding more scenes of celebration is the ONE legitimate change to the trilogy I’m okay with. I mean I still want the perfect DVD rendering of the original and unaltered version but this is the one change that is not simply cosmetic but actually means something.
Still prefer the original older Anakin.

  8. I just watched Jedi today for the first time in years, and I was a little shocked by this. I hope that when these films get the Blu Ray treatment, Lucas has the decency to offer the original cut for us fans. Why tamper with what so many fell in love with to begin with?

  12. ill always wonder how did a bunch of Ewoks defeat Vader’s own 501st ground forces…. the same troops who attacked, sacked and destroy the Jedi temple itself… lol, good scene and good ending nonetheless :D

  13. 2:53…After watching this part so many times, I realized there’s something missing. I think it’d be perfect if they added Padme into it rejoicing with Anakin, I think that’d make it even more touching and incredible.
But this is definitely an ending, a celebration for freedom after being kept in chains by dictatorship for so long~

  14. @mrrawrlicious padme cant join because she couldn’t keep her form with the force. it takes someone strong with the force to be able to keep thier form in the netherworld of the force

  16. This is cool. Just recently I noticed the Jedi temple during the various planets that were celebrating the fall of the empire. On this clip you can just barely see it on 1:24, but you can see it a lot clearer on the dvd. I like this ending and the orginal one as well. very cool

  17. I liked the special edition version (Late 90s was it?), it still had Sebastian Shaw, but it had the new music.

I didn’t mind the old music, but I prefer the newer version. However, I preferred seeing the old Anikan, it just doesn’t look good seeing a kid stand next to, two great wise Jedi.

  22. fuck the new scenes!! i mean… i hear a gungan (or even jarjar) scream “mesa free” in the naboo scene.. gungans are the most annoying creatures of all time, especially jarjar, and have nothing to do with the original ep6.. ep6 is awesome.. gungans are not awesome… let’s put them together :D superb work mr lucas..

  23. @CamusTheDark What really aggrivated me is, ok, they changed Anakin’s ghost…..but what you couldn’t do Obi-Wan’s? If you are going to do one you may as well do them both or none at all…

  24. I like all the new CG scenes and new music, but I absolutely HATE the way they replaced Sebastian Shaw with that Hayden Christenson.
