That can impossibly be true.
His previous master alone, was more powerful than he was.
Darth Plagueis reached a level of force affinity where he could control life and death.
And as mentioned, Sidious’ only real strength lied in his ability to sense the future. Which is not exactly true power, but advanced strategic planning.
Anyhow, I can’t really argue with Wiki..

I never said his future sensing abilities were unusable. But when I talk power, I mean raw physical power.
Whereas future sensing in my book goes into strategic thinking.

I say it would be very possible for him to actually have lost to Windu.
Windu is the most powerful Jedi in swordsmanship. (Yoda is the most powerful one overall, but Windu’s swordsmanship is superior to that of Yoda)
The lightsaber being his preferred means of fighting, and being the only Jedi who has actually mastered the 7th and final form of the lightsaber supports my argument.
So did he lose on purpose? Possibly.
Could he have lost due to the difference in skill? Also possible.

@10211111 That look is more likely look of pain caused by deflected lighting. If sidious was merely lucky, yoda would have tried again (next day, week, month, year..) He is not the type of guy who despairs or gives up easily.
Only explanation is that he sensed that he gave his best and that it wasnt enought. He realized that for last 1000 years sith have evolved, where jedi have remained the same. He knew that new generations of jedi is required to beat them.

1 Anakin was older, and thus had bigger arms, hands, wrists, and muscles, and thus a bigger lightsaber. Where the children were using lightsabres from 50 to 75 cm long, AnaKING was using a full length one, and thus cutting off the arms, legs, fingers, heads, noses, ears or simply legs of these padawans. Without their arms, the Padawan were unable to fight on, and were to be found running around looking for their lost limbs.

2) Anakin was part of the prophecy: he used the force more (because he was part of a prophecy, but not a prophet, like Jesus. Noone replaces Jesus), thus he could strangle, choke or even throw the children (using the force, given to him by the prophecy). Often, the children would either die of strangulation of have their (small) brains bashed against the (hard?) walls of the jedi temple. That, apart from hurting a lot, would ultimately cause them to lose the use of their bodies, i.e. death.

3) Anakin had the element of surprise on his side. The kids thought he was on their side,which presumably meant they weren’t expecting him to kill them. Which he did.
4) All of the children died.
5) Anakin did not.
